UDO Rules for Countries outside of the UK
Any dancer wishing to compete must be a UDO member 9 Membership is free please see home page)
UDO World & European Qualifying competition will offer Crews & some may offer Solo, Duos, quads & Break dance. (Please check with event Director as to what categories will be offered at the competition)
RULES FOR CREWS
Competing age category for both UDO World & European qualifying events.
CADETS AGE 7-12 JUNIORS AGE 13-17 SENIORS AGE 18
25% of the team can compete in an over age category
E.g. If you are 12 years old after 1st January and you turn 13 in the year of the competition you choose to dance in Cadets or Juniors.
Crews can consist of a minimum of 6 dancers to a maximum of 18
Team music can be no longer than 2min plus or minus 5 seconds
No Swearing in the music
No bad gestures allowed in the choreography
The dance area will be a minimum of 10 X 10 m
Props are allowed but they must be removed from the area of dancing after being used in the routine. No sharp objects, no weapons of any description, No glitter or any fluids to be thrown in the audience on the floor or at the judges. Teams must have perfect control of their props if used.
All dancers must be in good physical condition. Any Illness or Injury must be reported to the contest co-ordinator.
Each Team must provide music on a good quality CD a back up CD must be provided
Each CD must be clearly marked with the crew’s name and age category
Only the correct team music to be provided on the CD NO other tracks.
A team must show a minimum of THREE STYLES of street dance
E.g. Popping, Locking, Krumping ,House dance ,L A Style, Break Dance ECT
Dancers & Teams must always show good sportsmanship and good behaviour
When advertising or promoting a winning team in any way please note that in the title you must ALWAYS include the UDO
E.g. UDO JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONS (then the name of the crew.)
Costumes are to the discretion of the crews but NO NUDITY
QUALIFICATION FOR UDO WORLD STREET DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The three highest ranked teams from each age category will qualify for the UDO World Street Dance Championships.
** Please note at the UDO World Championships all qualifying teams MUST compete in the advance category in their age division. The music length at the World Championships can be a maximum of 3 min**
QUALIFICATION FOR THE UDO EUROPEAN STREET DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Seven highest ranked teams from each age category will qualify for the UDO European Street Dance Championships
